Never underestimate the power of words. As a writer I have always been mindful of the power of every word I wrote. But being a very visual writer through out my career (I would always tell my art partners that I was way better art director than them), I was inclined towards design and typography.

And one day while working on a drab brief that could barely inspire me I did a little exercise to get the creative juices flowing.

I took a random word, sketched it on my doodle pad and stared at it and suddenly it turned into a picture and winked at me. The simple set of alphabets became an image that actually explained its meaning.

I started doing more and more of these words because it became a very interesting and challenging game. If I could take any random word and turn it into a work of art then I could take any boring brief and rescue an idea from its clutches.

I have managed to finish 45 so far and I am gunning for about a hundred to publish a coffee table book.

For what it's worth, I could at least get the lazy, 'visually motivated youth of today to buy a book that they would actually read.

I won't get a Pulitzer for it but a Nobel Prize would sure as hell make me happy.
